Featured Wedding - Jessica & Man Ching's Fish Wedding

Finally, its been a while since we got to post a Featured Wedding!  We've been so busy and I'm so excited to finally get to share these beautiful pictures from Jessica & Manching's Wedding.  Enjoy!  *(^_^)*

Jessica & Man Ching's wedding cake was one of the most creative wedding cakes we've ever made!  This creative couple was married on September 18th, 2010 and their reception was held at the Waikiki Aquarium!  (so fitting for the theme of their cake! =) )

They were such a great couple to work with and we loved creating their special wedding cake!  When we first met with Jessica and Manching, they explained they were self-proclaimed "fish nerds" and would theme their wedding around their love of fish.  Their requests for their cake design was to be very colorful and include animated cartoonish sea creatures, nothing realistic!  It was great they were willing to incorporate so much detail to make this their special wedding cake. 

Jessica & Manching chose our Yellow Butter Cake with Guava Cream filling, Devils Food Chocolate Cake with Lilikoi Cream filling and Coconut Cake with Pineapple Cream filling.

Christie & Daryl's Wedding

Wedding season in Hawaii is in full swing and Christie & Daryl helped kick off the season with their beautiful May wedding.  We met with Christie & Daryl back in December when they were in town from Australia planning their Hawaiian wedding.  This Aussie couple coordinated their wedding from overseas with the the help of Dianna Shitanishi of Hawaii Weddings & Events.  Christie's decor was a vibrant and stunning arrangement of lush turquoise, fuschia pink and yellows.  Their photos by Terra Photography are so vibrant, it makes me happy when I look at their gorgeous colors! 

This Aussie couple knew early on they wanted to incorporate their love for the beach and their color palette into a bright and fun-loving wedding cake set up.  We kept the design for the cake topper simple with a few pink plumeria sugar flowers and used their custom cake topper as the focal point.  Christie had this custom topper made of herself, Daryl and their cute pup!  I love how their pup got to wear a lei too!  Their Devils Food Chocolate w/ Oreo Cream filling and Red Velvet w/ Cream Cheese filling cupcakes, were each topped with a matching handmade pink plumeria sugar flower and a variety of sugar paste seashells, sand dollars and starfishes.   

Christie & Daryl sent us this email after they returned to Australia:

"Aloha Kristin, WOW! That's all we can say about our cake.  It looked and tasted unbelievable!  Your detail and presentation is out of this world.  Choosing you to make our cake was the best decision we made.  I will definitely be recommending you to other brides!!
